• WHY DID MARKET COMMON COMMUNITY CHURCH MOVE?

    Six years ago we started Coastal Life Community Church out of General Robert H. Reed Rec Center with a vision of being a church plant in the Market Common area that could reach people for Jesus! The opportunity to purchase the location came and we made settlement in April of 2025.

  • HOW DID MCCC FUND THE SALE FOR THE NEW BUILDING?

    Our church started a building fund shortly after our launch in 2019.  In the fall of 2023 we began a capital giving campaign that continues to the present day.  Along with our campaign, we have a supporter who has assisted several church plants in the area and has helped make this purchase possible for us.

  • WHEN WILL SERVICES BEGIN AT THE NEW CHURCH?

    Our official launch Sunday is happening on Sunday, March 15th. We can't wait to welcome you!

PHASE 1

Purchase & Major Infrastructure Upgrades


Market Common Community Church purchased 803 Howard Avenue in April 2025. The building was originally owned by the United States Air Force and previously served as the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base chapel. While rich in history, the space required significant upgrades to prepare it for long-term ministry use.


Building Systems & Infrastructure

  • Extensive HVAC upgrades and repairs, including replacement and installation of multiple units, major ductwork, air vents, and a new air filtration system
  • Installation of a brand-new roof
  • Upgraded electrical system throughout the building
  • Electrical engineering study conducted by a licensed engineer, as required by the City, to obtain the building permit
  • Installation of over 5,000 feet of internet cable throughout the facility
  • Brand new ADT alarm system installed


Structural & Interior Improvements

  • Removal of a large section of concrete on the right side of the stage to provide access to the main hallway and improve occupant traffic flow
  • Removal of wall coverings throughout the building
  • Ceiling, window, and wall demolitions completed as part of the renovation process
  • Construction of a new addition in the Sanctuary to create a larger main entry
  • Complete repainting of all building walls, window frames, and ceilings
  • Installation of new wood baseboards and replacement trim, all painted
  • New flooring installed throughout the building, primarily luxury vinyl plank (LVP)


Worship & Technology Enhancements

  • New stage sound system
  • Updated lighting and cameras to support video and online ministry capabilities


Completion

  • Phase 1 concluded with the building successfully passing the city’s final inspection
  • Certificate of Occupancy officially approved

PHASE 2

Interior & Exterior Enhancements

Phase 2 focuses on aesthetic upgrades and functional improvements that continue to modernize the building while enhancing the overall worship experience.


Exterior Improvements

  • Fresh paint applied to the entire building
  • Shed painted to match the updated exterior aesthetic


Interior Improvements

  • Complete renovation of all three bathrooms to align with a modern design vision
  • Installation of additional cabinetry to improve storage and functionality
  • New granite countertops for a durable, elevated finish


Additional Enhancements

  • Installation of a new lighting system to enhance both atmosphere and functionality throughout the space

For Phase 3, we need city appearance board approval (CAB). We are proposing the following:


Project 2: Change the exterior lights by all doors and the street number.

Project 3: Replace two exterior solid doors with store front doors.

Project 4: Enlarge and improve the front entrance.
